My name is Assiya Kuzembayeva. I’ve been working at International Relations Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University since 2006; graduated from the same university; and now act as an associate professor.
I am actively involved in the scientific and public work of the University such as the organisation of Summer Schools, international conferences and round tables. My research interests include regional security issues in Central Asia, relationship between gender and international politics, and EU and NATO policies towards Central Asia. My current research in EUCAM is devoted to the role of women in security and countering violent extremism by looking into Kazakhstan’s case and practices from Europe.
