Neil Melvin

Neil Melvin is Director of Studies (Conflict and Peace) at the Stockholm International Research Institute (SIPRI). He is also the Programme Director of the Russia and Euro-Eurasian Programme at SIPRI. Previously, he was the senior adviser to the Secretary-General of the Energy Charter, where he worked on energy, including in the Central Asian states. From 2001-2005, he was senior adviser to the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities. He has worked in leading policy institutes in Europe, including Chatham House and the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS). Dr. Melvin has published extensively on security and conflict issues in Euro-Eurasia.
