On 2 May, EUCAM fellows visited The Hague and had an opportunity to talk with representatives from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities.

During the meeting at the foreign affairs ministry, the officials dealing with Central Asia, was particularly interested on the research activities of the EUCAM programme in the field security sector governance, border and gender issues. The Dutch and European development cooperation initiatives were also discussed during the meeting.

At the office of the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, the fellows received a warm welcome by the officers working on Central Asia. Exchanges focused on the importance of the situation of minorities in Central Asian countries and their contribution to the development of the societies. The situation Central Asian enclaves was also discussed.

Finally, the fellows also had the opportunity to visit the Chamber of Representatives (Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal) and get familiarized with the role and the mandate of the Dutch legislature.
