From November 8 to 10, EUCAM organised a visit to Brussels for current research fellows Aigerim Kamidola, Kamila Smagulova and Nigora Fazliddin. They were joined by Andreas Marazis from the ENC and Jos Boonstra and Beatrijs Visser from CESS. Throughout the week, the group of six visited several NGOs, think tanks and EU institutions. During meetings with the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, the European Endowment for Democracy (EED), Open Society European Policy Institute (OSEPI) and the International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR), they discussed civil society and developments in Central Asia. At the Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA), the Central Asia Division at the European External Action Service (EEAS), the political adviser to the EU Special Representative for Central Asia and the European Parliament, the group had the chance to become familiar with the work of different EU institutions involved in EU-Central Asia relations. We would like to thank everybody involved for their efforts in making the study trip a success!
